Congrats to Rachel for being April’s Camper Spotlight!
Our Camper Spotlight this month is Rachel for her perseverance and commitment to her health. Despite regular medical treatments or relocating Rachel has always found her way to her JCF Fitness Family. We couldn’t be any happier to have you be a part of our fitness family! Moreover, we couldn’t be any prouder for you on your transformation…you’ve done an amazing job so keep up the good work. Congrats on a job well done!
Here is Rachel’s story in her own words…
“In 2010, after moving to Jersey City from Brooklyn, NY and after being diagnosed with a very complex auto immune disorder I began looking for an exercise program that would help me rebuild my body and regain strength as well as take control of my health.
I searched online and found JCF Bootcamp and a video that would inspire me to connect with Daris Wilson and discuss my fitness needs.
I was really nervous to get started seeing as how I had just endured 3 years of medical treatments that left me feeling intense pain, traumatized and physically weak.
Daris was a great listener and did some research on my condition. He promised he’d have my back and help me get stronger without letting me get hurt. (Only soreness allowed)
I attended my first Bootcamp on the pier at Exchange Place at 6:45am that following week. Even though I was so sore that I couldn’t walk for 3 days afterwards, I pushed on and within about 2weeks saw major changes. I went from being one of the last runners in the pack to almost first in a few months and I lost major lbs. My muscles developed and strength returned to my hands, joints and legs.
Although I’ve had to leave Bootcamp a few times because of relocating or health battles, I’ve always returned with an understanding that this fitness regimen is AS important as any medical treatment I could ever receive.
A strong mind emits a strong attitude which is instrumental when challenging yourself to build a strong body. I have never felt stronger then I do today. I know JCF Bootcamp, my amazing Coach and leader Daris, and the support I receive from the wonderful campers continue to motivate me to work harder at my goals each day.
Currently I’ve lost 22lbs since I rejoined in 2013 and I am continuing to work on reaching my goals “All Day, Everyday”.”
