Congrats to Leah for being July’s Camper Spotlight!
Huge congrats to our 2014 Rock My Skinny Jeans Challenge winner – Leah for rocking her skinnies! But also for falling in love with the process. She did so by having PERFECT ATTENDANCE for 12 weeks of boot camp (job well done Leah!)!! She took care of the process and her end result (nearly 20lbs weight loss, 2 sizes down, 12+ inches lost, and TON of confidence) was inevitable. Job well done Leah and congrats for being in the RMSJC Hall of Fame hahaha.
Here’s Leah’s story in her own words…
“I’ve struggled with my weight and body issues for as long as I can remember. I’ve tried just about every weight loss and workout regimen out there, but nothing really stuck. There was Slim Fast in high school and Jenny Craig after my son was born. And Sweatin’ to the Oldies and Tae Bo, anyone?
In the summer of 2011 a close friend introduced me to JCF Boot Camp. I went for 2 months during the summer but wasn’t quite ready to commit. In early 2014 I saw the emails for the Rock My Skinny Jeans Challenge, and I knew it was the right time. A long winter was finally coming to and end, and I was ready to come out of hibernation.
At the beginning of April we had our first group meeting. We got measured and weighed. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The scale read much higher than I expected it would . I knew I had to seize the opportunity and take the challenge seriously in order to get the results I wanted. During the meeting, Daris told us that we needed to fall in love with the process in order to make change happen. I took that to heart.
I showed up to every morning session for the next 12 weeks and rapidly saw changes in my body. My clothes were fitting better, and I was getting stronger. But it was still a total shock to me when Daris announced that I was the winner of the 2014 RMSJ Challenge especially since I saw all of my peers work so hard.
Daris, Cara, and Yari have always been very supportive and dedicated. Seeing all of the other women struggle right beside me was truly a source of inspiration that pushed me to strive even higher. I can say for sure that I’ve fallen in love with the process and have the results to prove it.”
Leah, thanks for sharing your story and for re-committing yourself this 2nd time around! We hope your story supports someone on their fitness journey the way you’ve been supported! We absolutely enjoy having you in our JCF Family!
