Founder and Head Fitness Coach
Daris Wilson, certified personal trainer, is the creator & head trainer of women fitness programs JCF Boot Camp and Diapers & Dumbbells.
Daris Wilson is a fitness enthusiast and New Orleans native making “fitness a way of life” since the tender age of 5 when he started playing team sports. That active lifestyle eventually lead him to earning an athletic scholarship to Bucknell University where he was a 4-year letterman, an all-conference performer, most valuable player, and the University’s male athlete of the year. Daris also owns several school and conference football records. His experience of training, which lead to the mentioned successes, included sports conditioning training, core conditioning, speed endurance training, strength training, power lifting, agility & quickness, performance enhancement training, plyometrics, weight training, pilates, yoga, boxing, and speed training.
Daris graduated from Bucknell University in May 2005 with a BS in Accounting. Following graduation, Daris returned home to New Orleans, Louisiana, only to migrate back north after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. In November 2005, Daris landed a job as an Investigation Analyst at the New York Stock Exchange. He later became unfulfilled and unmotivated by the “redundancy and politics” of corporate America.
In August 2008, Daris started JCF Boot Camp on a part-time basis. JCF gave women an alternative to the traditional gym-setting where the bulky equipment could be intimidating. It also gave women an encouraging workout environment built on camaraderie, accountability, and support. JCF Boot Camp has since become the #1 women’s fitness boot camp in Hudson County (NJ). The reception of JCF by it’s raving fans allowed Daris to leave corporate America behind in March 2010.
Later in 2010, Daris launched Diapers & Dumbbells – a stroller exercise program dedicated to the fitness needs of new mothers allowing them to workout without leaving their baby behind. D&D empower women to “reclaim your body, bond with your baby, and renew your beauty.”
Daris continues to sharpen his skill set and lives by JCF Core Value, “get better daily,” by attending seminars, workshops, and continued education courses. He has also studied and learned from industry leaders like Todd Durkin of Fitness Quest 10, who is internationally recognized performance-enhancement coach. Daris added nutrition credentials to his fitness arsenal by earning his SCW Sports Nutrition certification.
Being a part of JCF Boot Camp and working with Daris, you will become part of the elite that knows how to take care of her body and take control of her life through exercise and nutrition.
Born and raised in Bernardsville, New Jersey, Cara is long time Jersey City resident and avid JCF Boot Camper since 2011.
Prior to joining JCF Cara would occasionally go to the gym or on a run, however never took part in a consistent workout routine. In more recent years Cara has become a JCF regular and “later-in-life athlete” who thrives on participating in various obstacle, trail and road races to test her physical and mental strength in ways she never imagined she could. She has completed over 20 races since starting JCF Boot Camp, including the Tough Mudder, 9 Spartan Races, and several local road races. This year she ran both the Rome Marathon and Spartan Ultra Beast – a 30 mile ultra-terrain obstacle course, and the most challenging endurance race she has entered to date.
Cara credits her newfound ability and way of life to JCF. She has become very passionate about health and fitness and strives to maintain a healthier, active lifestyle, while helping others to do the same. Cara was honored when asked to become a JCF Trainer beside Daris and is beyond excited to work with all of the inspiring JCF campers.
Cara graduated from Fordham University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Communications & Media Studies. She has worked in Marketing and Advertising for over 10 years, 9 of which were dedicated to Health Communications. Currently, Cara is Program Director at Huge, one of New York’s top global digital agencies.
Cara is currently completing her personal training certification with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). She also loves to sing, perform and write music with various NYC area musicians. Cara looks forward to spreading the JCF “Better Body. Better Life.” mission through all of New Jersey…all day, every day.
Camper Relations Specialist
Yari is Native of South Jersey and earned degrees in Advertising and Public Relations from Rowan University. Upon graduating in 2010, she packed up all of her belongings and made the move up to the big city and hasn’t looked back since. She spent two years working as an Office Manager and Event Coordinator, coordinating events for up to 700 people.
Although coordinating events was fun and exciting, she always felt something was missing. It wasn’t until she started volunteering in EMS (Emergency Medical Service), that she knew she was happiest helping people. Being able to help someone when they are not feeling their best, was rewarding and exciting, however, she saw first hand that most ailments that people suffered from could easily be avoided and were easily reversible with the proper nutrition and exercise.
After just a few months, she decided to look at her own health. Weighing in at close to 200lbs, she decided enough was enough and that she would change her life. Although the importance of health and fitness was never engrained in to her, it became a way of life starting early 2013. After 6 months, she lost a total of 40lbs and completed her first Tough Mudder. With that feeling of empowerment from looking and feeling great, she decided it was important to “pay it forward.” She has now dedicated her life to helping women feel that same sense of strength and empowerment that comes along with owning their body.
As a member of the JCF team, she hopes to maintain open lines of communication with the JCF members and offer any assistance needed to ensure success during each individual’s fitness journey. She also hopes to encourage women to understand that they are in charge of their own wellbeing and urge every single member to wake up to their potential.
